There I am fast asleep dreaming of Hooters girls washing my Z while I eat watermelon and spit the seeds on their soapy water drenched clothes (yes, it's was an actual dream), and my phone rings. My hands react with my eyes still closed. I droggely answer "Hello." Other end of the line is a kid who's car I worked on 2 months ago who is asking if it's a good time to call. I hold back from any major offensive statement and say "Nope, I was just hoping that you would call." Stupid kid responds "Oh cool, we'll I need your help." I proceed to the toilet to drain myself while I listen to this kids story. He begins "Miles, I remember you telling me I shoud get an oil change, check my powersteering regularly and check the tranny fluid regular at a shop. I decided that a few things were low and filled up everything last night MYSELF. I was driving today and was racing this Taurus and my car started hesitating. I pulled over and a few things began to smoke. Do you think I busted anything?" I reply as I begin to flow my uring into the commode, "Man, anything can happen when you race. That's one reason why you shouldn't be racing all the time. What color was the smoke and where was it coming from?" He replied with "The engine and tranny. I can't understand it. I put 6 bottles of powersteering fluid in and flushed all the water out of the car before I put two bottle of antifreeze in the car." *My jaw has dropped and I am now peeing on myself and the wall in front of me." Instantly I wake up and ask "Where did you put the 6 bottle of power steering fluid? And did you at least ad water to the antifreeze when you put it in? He rebutles "I put the 6 bottles in the hole where the yellow dipstick was, it took all 6 bottles and I used both bottle of antifreeze but it was still a bit low. Did I do something wrong? Oh, I think I forgot to tigten something on the oil change. Cause there was a bit of oil on my drive way tonight." I tell him not to drive the car anymore and I'll be by on Saturday morning to look at it. But, I don't think this going to be a good day for him and left it at that. So far I can gather... - He put 6 bottles of powersterring fluid in the tranny (I think). - I think the engine ran with just 2 bottles of antifreeze, NO WATER. - and I gather he left the oil filter loose or off when he changed the oil. NOTE- I won't see the car until tommorow but I don't think it's going to be pretty. I don't think I am going to be able to do anything without some hi-tech tools but any help is appreciated. Again, I realize this is not my responsibility but I don't know where to begine. And yes I know this 17 year old kid is very, very, very dumb so don't flame. I just need suggestions. And yes this is completely true.
